Pheasant Pot Pie Builders (PPPB's) and duties - Choose your approach:

Before getting started, choose your approach. The approach will be dictated by the number of PPPB's.  If using a multi-PPPB approach, choose your PPPB team well - no slouches, definitely no winners, and no change-to-the-recipers.

The duties required to build a PPP often requires one to wear many hats.  Regardless of the number of PPPB members, the follow hats must be worn:

Cooker - Prep the Pheasant

Cutter - Dice pheasant and veggies

Mixer - mix canned goods, veggies & pheasant

Roller - Roll the Dough to line pie tins and make tops

Liner - Line Pie Tins with the Dough

Scooper - Fill the pies with mixed ingredients

Lidder - Egg wash the filled pie and crimp the tops on

Bagger - Wrap, Label & Seal the finished PPP

Stacker - Organize and Place in freezer

Let's look at the various approaches used to accomplish these tasks:

1. The One-man-is-an-island approach. In the beginning, when LL.com Pheasant Pot Pies where first invented, Lyle of constructed many PPP's by himself.  One entire night was spent rolling the dough, lining the pie tins, and cutting out the lids.  The lined tins and lids where lightly coated with Pam spray, stacked and separated with a piece of plastic wrap so they would not stick together then placed into the freezer for futher processing at a later date.  Another night would be spent chopping up the ingredients, making the sauce, filling, topping, and wrapping the PPP's.  You got ta be tough to take on such an adventure by yourself - only a few are capable of doing so.

The PPPB will be prep the pheasant on one night

The PPPB will Roll Dough, Lining tins, and make tops on another night

The PPPB will Cut, Mix, Sccop, Lid, Wrap and Stack on the final night

2. The 2-member PPPB approach. This approach is where you share the experience and proceeds with a friend and tackle the whole task in one setting.  Once again, choose your PPPB carefully or you might get stuck doing most of the work by yourself.  A two-member PPPB team will require approximately 4 hours to complete the mission.

Both PPPB's can sit around and Cook the birds ( and socialize ).

Both PPPB's can Cut and Mix the ingredients

One PPPB will be dedicated to Rolling Dough, Lining tins, and making tops

The other PPPB will be tasked with Filling and applying Lids

Both PPPB's can Wrap, Label, Seal, and Stack after all the processing is done

3. The 3-member PPPB approach. This approach is where you share the experience and proceeds with two friends and tackle the whole task in one setting.  Once again, choose your PPPB carefully.  A three-member PPPB team will require approximately 2.5 hours to complete the mission.

All PPPB's can socialize and Cook the birds ahead of time

Two PPPB's can Cut and Mix the ingredients

One PPPB will be dedicated to Rolling Dough, Lining tins, and making tops

One PPPB will be tasked with Filling and applying Lids

One PPPB will Wrap, Label, Seal, and Stack

4. The 4-member PPPB approach. This approach is where you are starting to get serious.  You are about to mass produce!  A four-member PPPB team will require approximately 2 hours to complete. A major bottle-neck in using approaches 1 thru 4 is the Dough Rolling - even the best PPPB Dough Roller (DR) can only Roll 35 liners and 35 tops in a two hour period.

All PPPB's can socialize and Cook the birds ahead of time

Two PPPB's can Cut and Mix the ingredients

One PPPB will be dedicated to Rolling Dough and making tops

One PPPB will be tasked with Lining the tins

One PPPB will be tasked with Filling and applying the Egg Wash

The two PPPB's (the Liner and Filler) and can put lids on

One PPPB will Wrap, Label, Seal, and Stack

5. The 5+ member PPPB approach. This approach is where you are really serious.  You will mass produce!  We have never used a 5 member PPPB team but I would gestimate that it would require approximately about 1 to 1.5 hour(s) to complete.  You should be able to make two batches in no time.  A major bottle-neck in using approaches 1 thru 4 is the Dough Rolling but now we will have two PPPB-DR's.

All PPPB's can socialize and Cook the birds ahead of time
